Hello, glad you’re here! I hope you’ve been experiencing some beautiful moments?
Today’s poem was written in my early twenties for a creative writing class. It reflects the way I reveled in life for a few years. So very grateful to be getting back to this (finally!), experiencing joy more and more often. This time, though, because I’m excavating and healing what took it away initially and building a much deeper foundation of faith in God and self, it’s gonna last. The harder times may never be over completely, but they will no longer hijack life, living, and love like they once did. Thank God (and me, for doing the work!), and all who have been on this journey with me, including YOU!
Pretty Christy Walk outside in the early morning, Watching the sun come shining. Smile to the east, Laugh to the west, Sing for your early morning love. Dew’s on the fresh wet ground, Sky’s got a pretty band going ‘round. Your eyes get misty, As you smile pretty Christy, As you’re watchin’ the world turn ‘round. The love for life shows in your eyes, As your sleepiness slowly dies. Your eyes’ll be wide, But your smile will never die, As you realize what life’s about. Dear little girl, You’re so perfect like a pearl, When the sun touched your hair, And your pale skin so fair. Isn’t it great to be a child In this ever changing world? To live without a worry, Enjoying life without hurry. - c. Pearl E. M.
Hope to meet with you here again on Tuesday. In the meantime, Grace and peace to you.
