Continuing With Prayers About Hope

Fri. 1/8/20

Hi! I hope you’re snuggling into 2021 well?

Trying to keep hope alive with another prayer from GLP contributions . . .

Several months ago I went to a place called Onsite Workshops in Tennessee.  People who are looking for a better quality of life and/or relationships can go there to work on themselves in a deep, soul searching (and, if necessary, gut wrenching) way. It’s a safe place which brings in therapists from around the country for 4-6 day intense experiential workshops, and it ain’t a place for sissies!

Participants come from around the world to participate so you have no idea who’s going to be your roommate or group mates. When my roomie walked in, my heart sank. The Coco Channel shoes she wore probably cost more than everything I brought combined! I was rather intimidated, to say the least.

I learned she’s the wife of a pro football player and you know what? We were laughing hard and vowing to be each other’s safe place within hours.  She was my strongest ally there, which is saying something considering everyone was there for similar reasons and therefore loving and supportive of each other no matter what we heard, confessed and did in our groups. NOTHING brings people together like knowing we’re in a safe place to be the vulnerability of our deepest truths and truest selves because of our common bond of hoping to create a better life for ourselves, the people around us, and by extension the world at large.

Dear Lord, hope is a powerful motivator, equalizer of humanity, and restorer of spirit when met with respect and humility. Help me to remember that everyone who has the courage to sincerely express their hope deserves to be listened to and honored.  It’s another way we can create a more healed & loving world, one person at a time.

And thank You Jesus, in all ways, & for always! Yes, God! Amen!

Looking forward to meeting you again on Monday!
