More Hope!

Friday, 1/15/21

Howdy, glad you could be here!

Apparently the ‘Hope’ theme lasted quite awhile for the prayers I wrote for the GLP group  mentioned in an earlier post.  That’s good because I write and/or post what I have to express, learn, or need to be reminded of.  This past week had memories emerging and nightmares afoot and I’ve been going toe-to-toe with the emotions that were attached to them – fear, terror, doubts, anger, negativity, sense of worthlessness, etc..  Hope was wearing thin too, so this prayer is a timely refresher on the subject.

“Hope sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.”

                                                             – Helen Keller

I’m beginning to believe the value of hope I have is equivalent to my sense of worth in God, that they’re intertwined.  If I believe and keep affirming I am nothing, or think humility means not claiming my infinite value in God, then I probably won’t go far in this world.  I, not God, will prevent myself from accomplishing anything significant because I won’t believe I am worthy and capable of loving much, doing much.  The more I believe in and affirm my value as a beloved child/daughter/son of God, then the more of my inheritance of love and power from God I embrace, which increases what I have to give and use.

Hope is kinda the same way.  If I hope only a little or not at all because it’s all I believe I deserve, then there is not much God can bless me with even though He tries repeatedly.  If I refuse to acknowledge the possibility of something then I won’t see the blessing even when it’s right in front of me.  As the late, great, Wayne Dyer said, “I’ll see it when I believe it”.  And one of my favorite Joyce Meyer quotes, “I’d rather believe for everything and receive most of it or even some of it, then believe for nothing and get all of it.”

Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans for a hope and a future.” puts it perfectly.  First we believe God has only good for us, then hope and love blossom, and then we can claim our abilities and blessings from God, which in turn begets the amazing life He has for us.

Dear Heavenly, all-loving, all powerful Abba, keep reminding me of exactly who I am in You, Your Be-loved heir.  That way I can share the truth of Your glory, Your love for us, and our infinite inheritance with others who may be in need of hope, and all that hope in You can lead to. In Jesus name, Amen.

Looking forward to Tuesday’s meeting with you. I hope you have some beautiful moments over the next several days.
