"For I know the plans I have for you", says the Lord, "plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans for a hope and a future."
The Bible, Book of Jeremiah, Chapter 29, v. 11
~ With love, God

She was saved by God,
rock and roll,
and potato chips

Welcome, Wonderful You! Have you able to recognize more good within yourself?

Today’s poem was written quite a few years ago and is pretty self-explanatory, I’d say.  All the work God and I have been doing to heal is coalescing; what this poem is about will always be a part of my life’s experience, but it’s no longer my life.  Thank You, God (and Pearl)!  Amen!

Void

I’ve been running away from you for so long
That I no longer now how to stay.
All the times I’ve reached for you and you turned away,
now that emptiness is all I can take.

I’ve cried so hard without shedding a tear
And tried so hard to no longer care
I’ve blocked what was right to avoid the Light
For the darkness was all I could fight

I look to the left and then to the right
To find a shoulder to lean on
I see the ocean and I see the mountain
And not a person within my sight.

I’ve learned so well I think I’ve lost the part
that could stay when I needed me the most
For no one else can ever fill that void -
in my heart and soul that was once
   My Self

Looking forward to meeting you here again next week!

  1. My goodness girl, You’re just so talented. I am sure I have journals of letters that I wrote to God in depression. I would make me sad to read them. I’m really trying like Paul says not dwell in the past and just enjoy the healing and Joy God has brought me today. However, it is wonderful to reflect on how far he has brought me how far I have come. I praise god for his mercy and grace he is my redeemer! It took much longer than I hoped for but he has restored the years the locust had eatened. And I think I can honestly say that everything that happened in my life happened for a reason, to make me into the woman that I am and she is amazing and so are you!

    1. Hi Robin ~ thank you for your compliments and encouragement!
Yes, you are amazing, Robin. Love your faith and perspective.
I didn’t mean you had to read all the old crud; you did what was asked. Just meant, have a token to symbolize where you where in order to recognize and appreciate how far you’ve come later; especially if you are having a difficult time and forgot.
Thank you, Robin, for taking the time to read the blog and respond! It is much appreciated.
